Jinny Part 3

Jinny was crying, unable to process what had happened, it was too shocking. She sat next to Storm’s head stroking her smooth dark coat. The vet was already on his way, he didn’t live too far away but in this case, time mattered, there wasn’t enough time. Storm had already collapsed and she was trembling. Jinny’s dad was waiting outside the stable for the vet. Finally he had come and was already squatting next to Storm. Over the phone, Jinny’s mum had told him that it was a brown snake, that’s what Jinny thought she saw. Dr Alfred, their vet, had brought out a syringe, he applied the needle top to it and filled it with liquid. “I’m just going to give her some anti-venom” He spoke as he slid the needle into Storm’s skin. “She is in a pretty bad state, if you waited a little longer she would have being gone, but I don’t know how far the venom has travelled already, it might already be too late” Jinny gasped as her heart sank deeper, her chest was tight and she found it hard to swallow. What if she was going to lose Storm? It would all be her fault for bringing her for a trail ride and letting her get bitten. “All we can do know is wait and see, her kidneys might be clotted and she could die of kidney failure”

Storm was getting worse by the minute, she was tense and she was shaking. Jinny heard her parents and Dr Alfred discussing something. “Jinny” her mother said “Get some rest in your room” Jinny looked up at her mum “Why? It’s not even afternoon? Are you going to put her down?” Her mother looked back at her father “Just go” Jinny started to cry even more and grasped onto Storms neck not willing to let go “I’m sorry, my Stormy, don’t give up” Storm snorted. “Is she going to die, John?” “She is suffering, it’s inhumane to keep an animal alive in such bad health, it’s good for her” Jinny buried her face in Storms mane. It felt like hours had gone by. She had blocked out all the sounds going around her until Storm’s tense neck was finally at ease, she looked at storms delicate face laying in the straw motionlessly. “Thank you John” said her father’s voice “No problem, I’m sorry about Storm she had a great second life here” Dr Alfred’s footsteps slowly faded as he walked down the stable hall. “Is she really gone?” Her parents didn't reply.

To be continued...
God! I hated but loved writing this part! I was crying throughout the whole thing! Sorry about what happened! :(

Stay fluffy,
